Welcome to Districts Post a forward thinking community newspaper delivering a rich media experience on each and every printed page.

Our aim is to build stronger communities by sharing their stories, connecting people with local events, sharing places of interest, showcasing businesses and informing you of the latest local council and government news.

We are an independent community newspaper servicing a very large rural and urban catchment area of well over 50,000 people across Franklin & North Waikato, New Zealand. We have invested heavily in the community by having a number of local journalists on the ground attending and covering local news events that matter to the community we serve.

Districts Post is published, printed and distributed weekly on a Tuesday by Horton Media. We believe in investing in and supporting the local community. To do this we need your support.  If you have a story, news, reviews or want to advertise lets us share it all across Franklin and North Waikato for you.

About Us

We believe that local newspapers play an important, irreplaceable role in our lives. Local newspapers cover school and community events and sports. They keep track of highs and lows, weekend sports and gatherings that are what make communities great. They tell you what’s coming up and document what happened this week.

They serve as watchdogs of local boards, councils and government decisions. They tell the stories that are important to the community.

At Districts Post we accept the role we need to play in the community and will do our best to deliver real community news focusing both on our urban and rural communities, putting local journalists on the ground to cover your local events, tell local stories and share what matters to you. You are our news.

Distribution Area

With an actual physical print run and distribution of 25,000 copies all across Franklin and North Waikato you can be assured that we will do our best to put your business in front of over 50,000 people each week.

We don’t count emails that are sent as part of our distribution like some other papers do as this inflates the actual number distributed as some of the emails are sent to the very same people who get a physical copy as well.

The Journey – keeping it local :- from the news gathered from all across Franklin our team writes, designs and lays out the paper in our local offices in Franklin, then they send it to our award winning press in East Tamaki where it is printed and from there distributed to your door, shops and businesses.
